mg_ss_hi_res-300x222  Friday, November 18, 2016 – Coffeehouse featuring Martin Grosswendt and Susanne Salem-Schatz, with Dave Jackson opening, Open Mic, 8:00 pm

Cost $7 Members, $8 Non-members

Start with two compelling voices, an uncanny sense of harmony, a deep grounding in traditional American music; add in stunning guitar work, a warm, intimate performance style and what do you get?  Martin Grosswendt and Susanne Salem-Schatz.  Martin is an interpreter of prewar blues and other roots music and Susanne slips into any genre from soulful blues singer to sassy honky-tonk gal the next. Together they show a deep love and respect for the roots of classic blues, old time music and early country. At the same time they make the music their own, presenting it with style, grace and wit. As one reviewer says “Martin and Susanne make beautiful music together.”

Dave MixnMusicDave Jackson is a professional fan and lover of the American songbook, traditional, old-time country, folk, swing, fiddle tunes, blues and the songs of singer-songwriters.  He plays pieces collected from all these influences, ever cognizant of where he’s borrowed them from and grateful to carry them on as they`ve been passed onto him.  Dave plays in an energetic, percussive style especially on his originals which he has collaborated on with others and/or simply borrowed!

Open Mic – Sign up at the door when we open at 7:30 PM.  No early sign-ups.  You must sign yourself up.  Four 8 minute slots before intermission and two 8 minute slots after intermission.  First come, first served until our slots are full.
