The Delta Generators are excited to announce their new singer and harmonica player Brian Templeton (formerly of The Radio Kings.) The addition of Brian Templeton to the mix adds a fresh perspective to the band’s music.

Delta Generators formed in 2008 and have since won several awards including winning the Boston Blues Society Blues Challenge in 2008 and placing in the top ten at The International Blues Challenge in 2009. The band sees Rick O’Neal on bass and his brother Charlie O’Neal on guitar, joined by singer-harmonica player Brian Templeton and drummer Jeff Armstrong. Mixing elements of blues and Louisiana funk with ’50s rock, the band are electrifying the New England music scene one show at a time.

The band’s fourth studio album “Hipshakers & Heartbreakers” was released in March of 2016 and is a foot-stomping collection of ten songs that are guaranteed to get you up and dancing. The songs each range from Roots Rock and Blues to Soul and Americana.

The album was recorded at Woolly Mammoth Studio in Waltham, MA. David Minehan (guitar player for The Replacements and the Neighborhoods) recorded the album. It was mixed by multi Grammy Award winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, Beck) at Sputnik Sound in Nashville, TN and mastered by multi Grammy Award winner Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, Keb Mo’, Dixie Chicks). “Hipshakers and Heartbreakers” was completely fan-funded through the band’s highly successful PledgeMusic campaign.

In the last couple of years, the Delta Generators have shared the stage with such acts as Robert Cray, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Three Dog Night, Jimmie Vaughn, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Johnny Winter, Walter Trout, Popa Chubby, Bonerama, Candye Kane, Michael Burks, John Lee Hooker Jr. and Sonny Landreth, among others.

The Delta Generators are known for a soulful passion and raw intensity in their live shows. Vocalist Craig Rawding, guitarist Charlie O’Neal, Rick O’Neal (bass) & Jeff Armstrong (drums) are always looking to expand their well-honed musical palette; they touch on blues, soul, funk, rock‘n’roll and even country!

The Delta Generators won the Boston Blues Society’s Blues Challenge in 2008, earning them a spot in the Memphis International Blues Challenge in 2009, where the band finished as a Top 10 Finalist.

They also won Best Blues Band in Worcester Magazine for 2009 and were nominated for Best R&B Act in the Boston Phoenix in 2010. “Hard River to Row” was selected by the Blues Foundation as a Top 5 Finalist worldwide in the best self-produced CD competition at the International Blues Challenge in 2011.

Music critic Bill Copeland writes “the Delta Generators are one of those rare bands that go beyond talent to arrive at charisma and that extra something that makes listeners take a strong liking to it.” The Delta Generators have shared the stage with Robert Cray, Three Dog Night, Jimmie Vaughn, Johnny Winter, Walter Trout, Bonerama, Candye Kane, Sonny Landreth and Lurrie Bell. Several notable musicians have also sat in with the Delta Generators-Brad Whitford (Aerosmith) & Johnny A. (Peter Wolf/Solo). The Delta Generators continue to pack enthusiastic venues and gain new fans throughout the Northeast and beyond.
